Our Vision
We are extremely proud that for more than 35 years, SNAP Cymru has been a place for families to turn when they need impartial and reliable advice. We’ve helped over 90,000 families with 200,000 concerns since we launched in 1986. And it’s thanks to our amazing staff, supporters, partners and volunteers that this is possible.
We stand on the cusp of new legislation with SNAP Cymru taking forward the inclusion agenda for children and young people and providing specialist educational advice for families and professionals in Wales. Whatever area of work we engage in our approach is to find solutions as close to the child or young person as possible.
Much has changed for the better, but, as the inclusion agenda drives forward, there is still a huge amount to be done. There are still challenges ahead as new legislation is enacted in our Schools, Early Years and Colleges of Further Education and we are proud of what SNAP Cymru can bring to the new system with our long history of working with parents and partners.
Our vision remains clear and we continue to champion change to improve policy, practice and provision for children, young people and their families.

Our Goals
Our NEC sets and maintains our vision, mission and values and believes that delivering services that are based on a volunteering model ensures added value and a continuity of service beyond our paid team.
SNAP Cymru’s mission statement and charitable objectives are key in determining the organisations activities. The charitable objectives are:
To provide or assist in providing information, advice and support to enable children and young people and their parents or guardians to participate fully and equally in society.
To assist parents and guardians in their understanding of relevant legislation and through this to facilitate their children’s contribution and involvement in life choices.
To facilitate the partnership of young people, parents and professionals in decisions relating to education and inclusion.
